Dealing with challenges is something that impacts all of us, the mindset in which we respond to challenges is what sets us apart.
Mindset can impact on how we deal with rejection, how we progress in our careers and relationships, and how we deal with the impacts of the Covid-19 lockdown just to name a few! According to Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck (Article source), your beliefs play a pivotal role in what you want and whether you achieve it.
Elite athletes are known to talk about how they bounce back after losing a game and implement mindset techniques as part of their fitness regime to maintain laser-like focus. Visual attention is the ability to focus on what is currently relevant to whatever you are doing while ignoring distractions.
Michael Jordon who has been described as one of the best NBA basket players of all time said “If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
Like any other muscle in the body the mind is another that can be exercised and strengthened over time.
